World Famous San Diego Zoo

Established in 1916, San Diego Zoo is one of admired zoo in the world because of its richness, animal collection and succeess for breeding scarce animal. As an Indonesian, I surprised to see alot of animals collection such as rhino, elephant, orang utans, siamang, birds, buffalo which are originated from Java, Sumatera, Borneo and Papua that live well and healthy in the San Diego Zoo, thousands miles apart from their origin. Another collections come from different part of world including Australia, Africa, other part of Asia, Alaska and America. We can ride a guided bus for 35 minutes to explore the zoo (mostly you merely see 4-legs animal and big birds), yet this trip doesn't allow you to dig more into middle location that consist of wide variety of birds, apes, amphibies, and river's animals. The skyfari enables us to overview the zoo from over the treetops using a gondola which is hung upon the steel wires, travel about 3 mph for 5 minutes trip. The zoo also offers you animal shows at 2 theatres, amphiteatre and regeforth bowl. The animals contributed to the shows are cheetah, eagle, alaskan wolf, oyster, sea lions, etc. Since the zoo landscapes have different elevation from one section to another, 2 long escalators ready to convey you without having to walk up to steepest hills. Well, however zoo is the zoo, its huge areas and a lot of fascinating animals to see always make me sweat..
