Star of India, Maritime Museum - SD

Star of India was built in 1863 as a merchant sailing ship. Since steams ships ruled the sea by 1920, sailing ship became obsolete and laid up in port. After change the ownership for several times, Star india finally towed to San Diego in 1926 and restored heavily from 1957 to 1976. The star of india now becomes one of the San Diego Maritime Museum fleet.

Visitor can get on board and sees cabins, and decks in original design, and observes film documentation of the ship's sailing activities.
