The Pilot at Maritime Museum - SD

The habor pilot boat was launched in 1914 and responsible for steering large vessels safely into and out of the bay. After long time serving in WWI, WWII until 1996. Finally due to her age and condition, the pilot was donated to the maritime museum. Visitor is permited to get onboard and make short trip along the San Diego bay around 30 minutes. Fortunately, we were got onboard in 3:30pm and during that time the two californian boat ships (they are replica of 19th century revenue cutter and also belong to the museum fleet) were demonstrating battle in the sea. Each of the ship shot their cannon against each other, yielding loud sound and thick smoke. During the trip you could also see USS Midway from different angle.
