Old Town Trolley Tour, SD

Old town trolley tour is a hop-on hop-off tour that use a land vehicle which seems like the famous San Francisco's cable car. Definitely the vehicle is not a real cable car, since it uses a normal gasoline powered engine. Actually, we already familiar with the all objects spanned along the tour, but since we had free tickets for this tour, there wasn't any harm to join the tour. The tour started in maritime museum area, then cruised to the sea village (check our posting of seals tour), gaslamp area (check our posting of petco park), coronado beach (check our posting of coronado beach) , balboa park (check our posting of visiting museums in SD), and finally ended in old town historical park. We just hop-off at the Coronado beach to feel the warmth of summer white sands beach and at the Old Town area. The old town is actually considered as the birth place of entire california because it was the first place of US communities evolved, since US bought the california territory from Mexico. A lot of places in California was used to be Mexican military bases. After being transfered to US, the US army replace these bases with their soldiers and automatically the civilian groups began to live there, especially after the gold rush in 19 centuries. No wonder, many of the retained building in this area is seen like traditional Mexican properties. Currently, old town area is become one of a historic park of california and tourist can see the old fashion buildings, replica of county office, original setting of trial building and includes its jail, ancient sheriff office , or even the first school erected in California. For many tourists, old town area also a place to taste authentic mexican food along with their traditional arts, and also a place to find San Diego souvenirs.

Baseball game at Petco Park, SD

On Saturday, we went to a softball game between San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamond that took place at the Petco Park, a ball stadium in the heart of downtown San Diego. It was not a good day for the Padres, since the game was ended with victory on the Diamond side, left the final score 5-3 after the last inning. In San Diego (yet, I believe that this is the typical situation in US), a professional game is managed to be both a sport

game and an entertainment to its spectators. Let's take the Petco Park as an example. The giant LED screen up the podium provides all informations about the game score, the up-close player face who is in striker position or pitcher position (together with infos about their history & record), and other stimulants to encourage spectator to become more vigor. The display also gave a command when the spectators need to waive, punch their feet to the floor, gave spirit to their team, etc altogether with the appearanced of the game mascot. In additional, the display also showed a short-visual game during break time to entertain the spectator. That was simply a boat race with 3 sailing boats involved, and the boats were sailing for a few moment and we had to guess which boat would ended up as a winner before they touched the finish line. The other entertainment during the break time was one of the field cleaner task force, suddenly turn into a good dancer in the middle of the field, dancing in front of spectators followed by a famous dance song aired by the stadium sound system. The other interesting thing was the stadium provided sufficient food stands for few segment of people. It was an interesting idea, to combine a sport game with simple entertainment and food, with a primary goal that people come were coming as part of their recreation (not just seeing a sport game), they will revisit the other game, and the stadium elicits sufficient revenue to cover its costs.

First days of Riding Bike

Hi All, my dad bought a new bike for me a couple months ago. It is pretty cool... decorated by batman theme and painted with shinny dark blue color. My dad helped me a lot to learn how to ride a bike. It was started with holding my seat, then merely holding my handle bar and finally just running right behind me. Daddy was ready to catch me if I almost felt down. Thanks dad... Within 4 days I already have basic capability to ride my own bike. Definitely, I still need practices to easily maneuvre my bike, yet I always play with my bike every weekend, and for sure I am getting better day by day now.

See.. I am on my own riding my bike. Yip...Yip...
